Specialized, thin needles are painlessly inserted in a specific pattern along energy pathways called meridians. The needles are left in place for 30-45 minutes and function to release energy blockages believed to cause disease. As an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is used to treat many illnesses, reduce the side effects of drug withdrawal, and maintain optimum energy levels. Needles are placed in specific acupuncture points called 'tsubos' along the 12 meridian lines to release 'qi' energy and reduce the stagnation which results in disease.
